Ward & Elynor's Summer 2007 Wanderings;Visit with Dawn & LeOne (nee Belden)

Dawn was one of Elynor's two first-graders when she taught country school near Ludlow SD during the 1953-54 school year. LeOne was in high school at the time, so did not attend country school while Elynor taught there. But we knew the whole family; in fact, Elynor and our older three kids lived with the Belden family for several months after Ward left Buffalo SD to come out to work for Boeing in the Fall of 1953.

LeOne must have constant Oxygen (25% lung capacity) and cannot walk or even stand for more than a few minutes. Why do people allow themselves to become so addicted to cigarettes that they endure this life-ending battle? We pray for LeOne and others like her.

Dawn was a pretty blonde, round-faced little first-grade girl when we saw her last; her face and laughter is unchanged in all these years and we think she is still pretty, especially on the inside. We had a very good visit, remembering common friends and acquaintances in Buffalo and Harding County. A lot of hearty laughing and a lot of good memories.
