Ward & Elynor's 2007 Wandering: Visit with the Link's

Hap and Gladys Link were our next-door neighbors in 1952 when we lived in McLaughlin SD. Our daughter, Susan, and their daughter, Sandy, were born a few days apart in June of that year. The Grand Mother and Grumpy had not seen Hap and Gladys since about 1953 when we moved from McLaughlin to Buffalo SD and subsequently to Seattle. Thanks to the faithful exchange of Christmas cards (a tradition that is best attributed to our wives!) the Link and Zimmerman families have remained in contact over the intervening years.

Their daughter, Barbara, was home for a short visit while we were there and we enjoyed a quiet dinner together (well, how quiet can a dinner be with three women present!). But Hap and Grumpy still managed to recount old memories -- albeit, in between being asked to "please pass the chicken (or salad or lemon dessert)".
