21 June 2013; Home and Parting of Friends --
Arising early to grab a quick breakfast before arriving at the Bellingham Ferry Terminal, we requested expedited deboarding for our Groaning Group of Seven so that we could be assured of getting to the AMTRAK station on time. The ferry was on-time for scheduled arrival at 0700; the Cascades AMTRAK was scheduled to leave Fairhaven (Bellingham suburb) at 0830. We didn't want to miss it.
We now became the infamous "Group of Seven". True to their commitment, the Ferry personnel placed our group in the priority deboarding bunch who were allowed to walk ashore ahead of the waiting automobiles, campers, travel trailers and trucks.
At the AMTRAK station, we were also isolated from the regular coach passengers and directed to the dining lounge to a large booth placarded with "Reserved for Group of Seven"
When we arrived at the Tukwila Station about ten minutes late, according to the schedule, we were greeted by one of our two previously-reserved Shuttle Express drivers with the question, "Are you part of the Group of Seven?"
For Grumpy and his guests who would remain in Seattle for a few days, it was good to be "home".
