The Great Prairie Safari -- Day Ten

10 May 2013; Great Grandsons In Hot Water --
Great Grandma always said, "My Grandsons [also applied to Sons and Great Grandsons!] can do no wrong!" So I suppose she would disagree with my ToDay's headline. But Grumpy reports the "facts" as he sees them, and in this respect, he thinks he is being truthful here.

This was the first (and probably the only!) day in which the GGsons awakened early and repeatedly, asking "What time is it!?". Their motivation was the fact that the "Star Plunge", one of several resortlike concessions having hot water access to the Big Spring, opened at 0900. So it was that it was they who nagged, "C'mon! We're a-burnin' daylight!!"

We arrived at Star Plunge at 0855. At 0900 the boys were registered with "all-day" privileges. That is, they could swim for awhile, leave and come back again and again all day long as they wished. The Queen Mother and Grumpy each were able to rent a swimsuit and thus were also able to enjoy the warm (or "HOT"!!) allegedly "healing" effects of this high-mineral content spring water.

The supposed leaders of this Safari had to "pry" the boys out of the pool for a one-hour lunch. Then back they went for the afternoon.

And "afternoon" became all afternoon!! At 1800, the Queen Mother suggested " ... it is time to get out!"
To which the boys responded, "But we just got here!!"

Eventually however, they did get out -- at 1900! They had been in the pool for a total of nine(9) hours!!

And that's why this post has just this one picture. Stay tuned for tomorrow; Grumpy guarantees that it will be something other than a hot springs pool!
